Why resize your images
- Faster websites. Smaller images load more quickly and use less bandwidth.
- Social media fit. Platforms have recommended image dimensions. Resize to match them for a sharper result.
- Email and forms. Some services reject oversized files. Resizing avoids upload failures.
- Consistent layouts. Match images to the exact dimensions your layout expects.
Frequently asked questions
Is this image resizer free?
Yes. The tool is free to use and does not require an account or login.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Images are read and resized locally using the HTML canvas API. Nothing is sent to a server.
Does resizing change the image format?
No. The output keeps the same file format as the input. If you need a different format, use the Image Format Converter after resizing.
What does "Maintain aspect ratio" do?
When it is checked, editing the width automatically updates the height (and vice versa) so the image is not stretched or squashed.
What is the maximum file size?
The tool accepts images up to 10 MB. Larger files may fail to process on low-memory devices.
Can I enlarge an image?
Yes. The percentage slider goes up to 200%, and custom dimensions can be larger than the original. Note that enlarging an image does not add real detail; it only scales the existing pixels.
